To answer your twin-dizzy question, it's pretty easy. You can pull the front cover from any 74 - 91 engine to get a cover with a single dizzy drive. The ignitorified (new) distributor will be found in an 83-85 junkyard donor or eBay, and would probably be your best source for the front cover, too. The ignitors use the distributor as a heat sink, so if you do swap, you'd do well to pull the ignitors off, clean up the distributor a little, and put a little thermal grease in there so you don't burn 'em up.
