is it a good idea to use one of these? what about heat coatings for the dp? or heat coatings for the exhaust manifold, particulaly the stock s5 one. I know it would cool things down under the hood more but would it have and side effects, like trapping too much heat in the turbo and ruining it?

you would be best running the stock heatshields, any coatings are gone in about a week or 2

what about vent's on the hood to suck out the heat.. I know it would be bad for the vent to be derectly over the turbo cause if it rains it's bad for it to get too wet..

"The secret cooling mod goes like this; remove all underhood insulation particularly the rubber at the back of the hood. Remove the rear of two bolts holding the hood to the hinge so that the back of the hood can cantaliever up about 1.5"-2". On the second gen, cut an oval shaped hole in the bumper just like the FEED, and GTC except much larger, roughly 3" high and 24" long. " in2twins

Probably the turbo. You don't WANT to put the wrap on because even though it keeps things cool on the outside of the pipe, it's BLAZING HOT on the inside of the pipe...something you DON'T WANT!
