T3/T4 hybrid
#1
I found a local turbo shop here in Seattle that will build me a Garrett bb T3/T4 hybrid for under $500. This would use all new Garrett parts, have a warranty, and no core is required. And I would have to get a T3 manifold ($280) from Corksport, but that is no big deal. Should I go this route? I'm not looking to be building a 500 rwhp car, I would just like to be able to go kick the crap out of some of the local vette guys. I don't know much about turbos, but this seems to be a nice cost effective way of making my car faster. Also, what kind of fuel mods would I need. I've already got a SAFC, would 720 cc/min secondary injectors be enough? How about 4 720s?

Plus if go with a T04 I will need to buy an aftermarket EMS, and a bunch of other **** that will end up costing me a lot more $ than I have to spend. I am trying to keep it somewhat cheap. Plus I'd end up blowing my engine if I tried tuning a Haltech myself, so that would be even more $ I'd have to spend. That is why I'd like to go the route of a T3/T4 hybrid, and they are cheaper than a T04. Trust me, if I had a bunch of money to spend I'd go with a T04, but I don't.
If I was in your shoes(worried about cash), then I would get a hybrid turbo like 1revvin7. Just pay for the upgrade of the stock turbo. The t3/tr turbo might still be cheaper to buy, but you still need other stuff to make it run. It's not the t3 part that makes power, it's the t4 that makes power.

Get with Jerk_Racer.. the turbo he got made is exactly what your looking for.. I'd personnaly go with a To4e if I was you with a A/R .89 exaust housing and P-trim wheel and a A/R 60 compressor... It seems to be the best all around turbo for a 13B if you want to drive it all over hell and back and still get around 400 hp with out boost lag etc..
