Thumbs up

OK I'm stumped! I just finished my TII. The thing the thing runs great with 2 exceptions. On startup she smokes badly (fuel). Untill I go about a mile or less. That one doesnt really bother me but this one does. just idleing the turbo will get red hot.IT GLOWS. GOD FORBID I BOOST UP!

I can see through the thing. I've played with the timing from extreme advanced to slightly retarded (where it doesnt like to runn at all unless under boost). She does have a heavy port on the primarys and secondary ports also minor exhaust porting. Stock ecu, turbo, injectors etc. the car really does go pretty good. Oh yeah the tps seems ok too. If any one has anythoughts...Please share.

I did this once to myself when playing with timing and waste spark. Too much fuel in the turbos is the problem. That fuel is burning up in the turbos. You might have a stuck injector. Wide open. Or no spark in a rotor.

My guess would be the bad injector... also, what turbo you running? stock? if it's not stock and you have a dinky little a/r ex housing the back pressure will make things get a little warm as well...

Not at idle, though! Only way the turbos could glow X-ray mode red would be unburnt fuel being dumped. So out of the 3 variables for combustion, you have 2 to check: fuel and spark!

ok then im going to swapp out all of my injectors and try that. thats what ive been thinking bc she flods warm start ups and ALWAYS runs super rich. Yes the ONLY thing that isnt stock are the internals of the motor so far. I just hope i havent destroyed a freshly rebuilt turbo.

oh yeah I have gutted cats into a N1 cat back system.

if the manifold is also glowing, look to see if it's the front runner or the rear one... That will narrow it down to at least 2 injectors... you could also be running super high fuel pressure due to a bad fuel press regulator as well...

Yeah the car sat up for quite a while as I was building the motor. so Im still working out a few bugs. Im hoping to have a peppy little car with all the mods that have been done. Ill be pulling the injectors off on fri before i go rice burning. Im sending them back to RCengineering where they came from to be checked and cleaned. (crossing fingers )
