I've got a friend around here thats selling a brand new still in box Garret t-04B turbo with .60 AR S-trim compressor wheel, and .96 turbine with divided housing for $1000.

Would I be able to use this on my car? Does this sound like a good deal?

thanks

Mike

hmm, I'll have to check on that. I already have a BOV. I know I still would need the ss lines, external wastegate, and a manifold. But don't full t-04's normally cost around $2000

I'm just trying to figure out if a New full t-04 is worth $1000.

A 60-1 Hifi could give you 350-400 HP pretty easily. You can get that for $650-700 from Turbonetics.

Ok, Ok. I see I'm gonna have to come clean.

Now what if I told you that he was selling 2 new-in-box Garret t-04B's, s-trim .96 turbine, divided manifold. For $1000.

Is it worth it?

That's not a bad price. I never heard of an S trim, but I would assume it's "bigger" than a Q trim. What is the turbo from, a truck or something?

A vette guy was going to use them in a twin turbo application for a 420ci engine.

Not a bad price? I woulda thought that was an AWESOME price. What do you think the value of those should be?

The price is good, but make sure it will work for you.

hmm, I figured I could sell one. Then use the money to rebuild the other with a compressor wheel better suited to the rx-7.

I'd just take the $1000 and buy the right turbo the first time and not mess around with any wussy To4B junk... You could probably hook up with a manifold and a turbo for that if you take your time and look around for the deals..
