What is the design like, are they the FD discs or FC turbo vented discs? Or are they a completely new design?

They have a single piston rear caliper, twist style piston, so there's no retarded inner e-brake drum to take away from swept area. It is similar to an FC setup(I've never played with an FD so I don't know). It is vented.

Those are the front brakes...obviously the rotor is an aftermarket rotor, but that's the OE caliper.....
