Well, alot of you have seen the tv show now, and know just how fast this car is. I am selling the car because I want to build an old school rotary with a larger displacement engine if you know what I mean =) (and no it's not some LS1 or other piston conversion) I have owned the car since April of 2003. I drive it on the street for a year or so, then decided to make it faster after the Microtech it used to have crapped out and the engine went. So I rebuilt the engine, installed a larger turbo and installed a Haltech E11v2. The car is amazing, and is very fast. The front and side windows are lexan, the rear hatch is still factory glass. The car runs fine and the engine is strong. It is a little finicky starting due to the NGK R6725-11.5 plugs in it. It is recommended that you start the car on stock plugs then swap to these when the engine is fully warmed up, but that is a pain in the rear, so I just deal with the cold start on them, and let it warm up fully before driving etc. Battery is located in the bin area behind where the passenger would sit and is an Optima red top with an FC3S.org sealed aluminum case.
The car was repainted in 2003, but it is not the factory white. It is just a general white color. The engine bay is white and complimented with Heatshield Products everywhere. The interior is textured black. On the inside it has the SMP carbon fiber dual gauge pod with a Turbosmart 60psi E-Boost and a VDO water temp gauge. On the dash is an oil temp and pressure, both VDO. The radio surround is the SMP carbon fiber unit, with all the switches for the car mounted there. Ignition, fuel pump, fan (which is also powered off the haltech on a relay), lights, and line lock. There is a 5 point cage in it already and it is ready for a full 6 point if you want one later on. It is outfitted with a Jazz aluminum racing seat that has a padded cover. Harness is taken care of with a DJ Safety 5 point AFI harness. Sunroof is the SMP carbon fiber sunroof replacement.
In the rear hatch area is the fuel system. SMP surge tank with MSD external pump. In the tank is a Walbro in tank feeding the surge tank. Lines on the surge tank setup are rubber Earls line into barbed Earls fittings
The engine is the original 13BT Turbo II engine that came in the car, but has been rebuilt. It is a fully cryo treated block. Housings were replaced with the first rebuild. When we were initially dyno tuning it, we got greedy with boost, and it ran just a but lean, so we had to rebuild it again and replace one of the rotors and the seals on it. The housing was also replaced at that time. It has been heavily streetported, and makes 428rwhp at 16psi. That was the last dyno number we had before we got greedy and went way too high on the boost controller and it didn't like it =) We haven't been back to the dyno since the tv show though to tune for higher boost, but it is definately capable of alot more on the GT45 turbo.
The frame is straight, and the body work was all done when it was painted. It is a really fun car to race, and we have enjoyed it alot. The exhaust setup on it is a 3" downpipe to a Borla race muffler to keep is sound legal for the local 1/8 mile races. There is also an existing fender exit exhaust that would just need to be hooked up if you don't have sound requirements at your local track. In the engine bay is a Master Power GT45 turbo with an 88mm compressor and a 1.15 A/R hotside. The turbo manifold is custom and was made in house. I guarantee it will never crack or I will fix it for free. All stainless construction, tig welded with twin Turbosmart 38mm wastegates (one per runner for precise boost control) There is a Spearco bar and plate FMIC with aluminum piping and a Turbosmart Supersonic BOV. Summit line lock is installed for eternal burnouts. Clutch and flywheel are both brand new ACT. Flywheel is Pro-lite and the clutch is the Extreme 6-puck. Transmission as rebuilt a year ago.
All the lights work on the car (headlights and tail lights/brake lights) so you won't have any problems racing at any track. The flex-a-lite fan is new, and wired correctly now through the haltech unlike when I had the old one and had it wired as a pusher during the tv show. No overheating at all now and the fan is automatic off the haltech with the OWM output set to temperature.
Suspension is RB springs with KYB AGX struts. Wheels are 17" Buddy Clubs with Falken ST115's in front and Mickey Thompson ET Drag Radials on the back. They are all basically new, and were put on the the TV show.
I am also including my 16ft flatbed trailer (at least I am pretty sure it is 16') I won't need it anymore after I sell the car since I am going to build a smog exempt car and wont have to trailer it anywhere. If you don't want the trailer, that's fine but it is free with the car, so there are no discounts if you don't want it.
The car is located at my house in my garage. There are no "test drives" (you'd be suptrised the amount of people that ask) You are welcome to schedule a time to look at it if you are local by calling the shop. 760-727-8700 I would also be happy to answer any questions you might have at that number. Ask for Dave Gibson.
