Auto Shipping, Mn To Va Or Other Points In Between
#1
Hey guys.
As you might've read in this thread I just got an '83 from VA. Getting it from there to MN is proving to be a hassle, but the best option I've figured out is to rent a tow dolly and drive out there with it, then drive back here with the new to me RX-7. It's cheaper than renting the dolly for a one-way trip, even if I keep it for a week.
Now in an idea to cut down my costs even further, I thought I could offer to tow anyone's car east along the path that I plan on taking. Which path is that?
I can alter the path within reason.
I wouldn't ask much for money, but it'll be a helluva lot cheaper than doing it through a moving company. Depending on the distance and how far out of my way I'd have to go, probably the gasoline expenses and like $50 on top of that. More if it's a ways out of my way. And Gasoline shouldn't be too bad, I'm towing with a Tacoma that normally gets 22mpg. With a lightweight little RX-7 behind it should't drop too much, probably not too much less than 16mpg. Especially since I'll be punching a big aerodynamic hole in the air with my truck for the trailered vehicle to slip through.
Any car too much heavier than an RX-7 would probably be too much weight though.
Any interest?
