1993 RX-7 For Sale 19,000 original miles CLEAN
#1
RX-7, this is an incredible opportunity. This is as close to an off-the-showroom floor RX-7 as you will find today, near flawless with only 19175 original miles and three previous owners who understand rotaries and how to keep them in perfect working order. There are not many stock RX-7s left, and only a handful with this low mileage. Perfect for a street driver or even a lightning-fast daily commuter as-is, or a perfect start for a project car as a rare R1 model with some reliability enhancements already done.
Asking $22,500
* Vintage Red 1993 RX-7 R1 with only 19175 original miles! Original engine. Car is being driven, so actual mileage will increase slightly.
* 255 hp Twin Turbo rotary in a 2800 lb car with 50/50 weight distribution. One of the last affordable pure sports cars, in a gorgeous bodyshell. Articles and specifications on the ’93 to ’95 RX-7 can be found here and here.
* VIN Number JM1FD3318P0207640
This actual car appeared in a nationally-run ad for General Tires in 1993, driven by the original owner. See advertisement here. 1993 “Road and Track” and “Car and Driver” magazines with this ad come with car if desired. (Car purchased from original owner with General XP 2000 V4 Tires used in ad, subsequently replaced by original Bridgestones).
· Second owner. Car originally sold in Atlanta, GA, now in Fort Worth, TX. Never driven in snow or salt.
· Mazda documentation for minor servicing is in-hand showing progression from 0 to 6000 miles over first 10 years.
· Second car, never driven daily until very recently (had to sell other car to buy house.)
· Parked in an enclosed garage every night of its life (it banished my other car to the driveway!)
Includes all original paperwork, window sticker and 1993 RX-7 brochure.

* Never raced. Driven on street only.
* Never smoked in.
* Never run with any more turbo boost than stock level.
* Never any overheating issues. A/C blows cold.
* Never driven hard and immediately stopped. Driven lightly for two minutes prior to stopping always to prevent overheating oil in turbos. Sometimes this meant a couple of extra trips around the parking lot
* Car has been entirely reliable since purchased in 2003. All factory recalls complete. Emissions-tested through October 2005, never any emissions problems.
* Significant tear-down done in June 2003 at 7500 miles:
o All vacuum hoses replaced by silicone tubes / high-temp plastic ties (significant reliability enhancement)
o All new vacuum system check valves
o Original plastic intake Y-pipe (prone to cracking) replaced by aluminum Y-pipe (Japanese-market RX-7 part)
o Coolant temp sensor replaced with Miata temp sensor. Turns radiator fans on at 208 deg F rather than 225 deg to keep car cooler and prevent overheating in Texas summers
o All fluids replaced: Redline differential fluid, Neon transmission fluid, 75/25 mix of distilled water & G-05 radiator fluid to prevent overheating
o New OEM spark plugs with new Magnacor Ignition Wires
o All belts replaced
o All intake system gaskets replaced
o Sun Auto Grounding System and several other new ground wires installed (relieved 3K hesitation issue common to most ’93 to ’95 RX-7s)
* Motor oil changed every 2500 miles. Only non-synthetic (Halvoline brand) oils used as recommended for rotaries. K&N oil filters used exclusively. Oil frequently checked and topped-up as necessary for a rotary. Oil changed twice yearly before 6000 miles.
* Never sipped anything less than 93 Octane except once in Oklahoma when I drove to four different stations and could only find 91. Never any signs of knocking. Never driven below 1/8 tank (I think there’s a low fuel light but I’ve never seen it!)
* New battery installed in October 2003.
* New Pirelli PZero Tires replaced original Bridgestone Expedia S-07 tires in April 2004 at 12700 miles (< 5000 miles on current tires)
* Windshield replaced in June 2004 due to crack. OEM Mazda windshield moldings purchased at extra cost.
* Includes Mazda factory service manual, additional fluids, spare gaskets and spark plugs.
* Mechanical condition: Perfect. All chassis / exterior / interior parts present down to the smallest fastener as far as I can see! Excellent care taken.
* Exterior condition: Excellent. No dings anywhere. Some very fine scratches in finish. Front license never installed.
* Interior condition: Excellent. Some minor blemishes on plastic panels. Original stereo system not modified.
* Inquiries welcome from serious buyers. Please, no "tire kickers" or "joy riders". This car is just too nice.
