Gauging Interest, Big Sp S5 N/a Engine
#1
Im gauging interest on the last motor I built myself. Its a S5 6 port engine, big SP intake, race ported exhaust(no sleeves). Full spec list to follow. The motor currently has 11K miles, and is running extremely strong.
> Its a S5 n/a block

> Inside the block:
> - hardened stat gears, grooved for type 2 main bearings, installed.
> - ecc shaft oil jets modified for more flow
> - TII oil pump and FD rear pressure regulator. Peak oil pressure is
around
> 110 PSI.
> - competition thrust bearings
> - atkins apex seals
> - teflon coolant seals and viton oil seals throughout
> - everything was blueprinted
>
> intake porting:
> - very large SP on the primary ports, large SP on the secondary and
> auxillary ports
> - auxillary port runners have a nylon insert to smoothly direct flow into
> the chambers. 6 port sleeves are not needed, not will they work.
>
> exhaust porting:
> - sleeve removed, race ported exhaust.
>
> misc:
> - shoulder around spark plugs ground off to allow use of shorter plugs
> without needing a narrow wall spark plug socked.
> - The spark plugs are currently all 9's. Anything hotter results in short lived plugs, and a loss in power.
> - oil feed on front iron tapped, for running a turbo. The thread is 1/4"
> NPT.
> - the coolant feed on the rear iron is also tapped 1/4" NPT. If it is
> necessary to run the BAC valve, or you have not done the TB mod, you will
> need to put a nipple in place of the plug to run the coolant line to.
