First, uneducated parties should read this:
www.rotaryresurrection.com/turboconversion.htm
Now, here is what I have, fresh in this week. This kit works for 86-88 nonturbo cars (or 87-88 turbos if need be), but can be modded to fit others (the drive train works for s5 cars as well, and the engine can be adapted though it is a lot of work). This stuff was removed from a ONE OWNER 87 t2 from florida, with 70K original miles. The car was hit in the front from a redlight runner and totalled out. Everything on this car was mint. IF you doubt this, I will have other threads posted soon with interior parts from the same car to demonstrate it's condition.
Included is the following:
--complete longblock engine with intercooler and flywheel (a/c only bracket and compressor are still attached and can be left if desired). See below for engine details. Wiring harness attatched and in great shape.
--stock used clutch, about half worn (recommend a new one, but you could use this one as well for several months or a year)
--transmission, starter, slave cylinder, driveshaft, rearend, halfshafts. 70k one owner mile on them all, so you know the trans and rear are nice and tight. I wasn't able to drive the car due to the damage (broken tie rod).
-stock downpipe/precat with extension pipe, which will bolt up to a stock or stock replacement NA main cat.
-airflow meter, air box, TID, BOV, throttle cable, brake master cylinder vacuum hose
-boost sensor, knock control box, ecu
--stock fuel pump and bracket (though a walbro and rewire are recommended for a modded setup)
--OPTIONAL stock turbo hood, red, BENT UP a little from the accident. May require some tweaking but will fit onto a car. Scoop in excellent condition, the edges of the hood are bent up. NOTE that this must be shipped seperately from the rest of the parts which will fit on a single pallet easily. This will incur extra cost for buyers who must ship the conversion, so it may be worthwhile to find a good condition hood locally.
These parts make up EVERYTHING required for a successful na-->t2 swap, except the aftermarket boost gauge.
Now, specs on the engine. Obviously, 70k one owner miles. Looks clean as a whistle. No leaks anywhere that I can see. Starts up immediately, wouldnt flood even though I tried to make it. Settles down to a nice 750 idle. No vacuum leaks that I could find. Compression test showed 120psi front, 115psi rear as seen in the pictures below. Note that 120psi is in the range of a brand new engine, or a new housing rebuild fully broken in. Most of my rebuilds usually break in to around 110-115psi compression, so obviously this is just about the strongest engine you can buy for under 2 grand.
Here are some pics of the parts.
Engine on the stand, running (since the car was wrecked up front, it had no radiator, so i wanted to be sure there were no cooling problems or other problems before selling it as it had not ran more than a minute or 2 while inside the wrecked bod. It ran about 30 minutes with no problems.)
The rest of the parts on a pallet ready to go:

OF course, the part everyone wants to know about, PRICE:
For the engine, all electronics and wiring, accessories, drivetrain, everything BUT the hood:
$1800.
Considering jspecs are often untested, getting hard to find, and going up in cost, I feel this is pretty fair given the engine's compression numbers. IF you consider that the average jspec goes for $1000 plus shipping, the drivetrain parts about $600 plus shipping, and the rest of the electronics and conversion parts another $500, you can see the deal you're getting here. Plus, i am offering a 30 day warranty on the engine provided it is not improperly modded or abused. This engine should last many years if treated properly...120 compression is as good as they get folks.
Finally, you get assurances that everything has low miles, worked when removed, and that all the parts for your conversion are guaranteed to be included...no chasing around across the country/internet looking for parts one by one. Finally, you save shipping costs by buying all at once rather than shipping piece by piece.
IF you want the hood, add $50. Note that shipping will cost extra here.
Shipping the conversion will be truck freight, unless the buyer wishes to pick up at the shop in east TN (www.rotaryresurrection.com for directions from anywhere in the US). Expect shipping cost to be $150-400 depending on location. Shipping ONLY to the lower 48 US. For a rate quote, go to www.gorlc.com, click RATE QUOTE, enter origin as 37814, your destination, class 85, weight 650. This rate would be effective for dock pickup (location of terminals is also listed on the website) or business delivery...residential adds extra cost.
Note that buyers who ship the conversion will be billed for the shipping cost UPON ARRIVAL, you will not pay me up front for shipping. This gives you a week or so to come up with the extra cash.
Interested parties should CALL me between the hours of 1pm EST and 10pm EST at 423-748-7977 for best response. You can also email me at hypntyz@charter.net, I check email in the morning and later at night.
Payment via paypal, cashiers check, money order, or cash in hand (if picking up) is acceptable. NO personal checks will be accepted.
