Default Rotary Powered Drift Evo WTF Build?

Hey guys welcome to my new build, this is my third evo, it's an evo 1 gsr which will be stripped down and built into a true drift car,

I had a vote to go between the 13b or sr20, and the sr20 had originally won, but I keep seeing and meeting rotary people and I've always had love for the rotary, The sound the awesome power, the weight it's awesome!!!

basic horsepower i'd be looking for is 350ish to start off with so anybody can tell me what I should do

I was thinking
- Single Holset HX35 Twin-Scroll turbo
- bigger injectors (but what size??)
- uprated fuel pump with fpr
- full 3inch turboback,
- spark plug mods is there any??
- if i go with 13b I'll have the room for a v-mount setup probably
what else would i need to achieve my 350hp?

I know some porting and if i want to go extreme I'd need to open up and port but If i want 350hp out of a bone stock 3rd gen fd3s 13btt engine I'm new to rotarys but i've always wanted one just never had the ***** to get one :P hopefully building this drift car with a rotary engine will change things :P FD3S In my future maybe??? :O

so I'm still un decided though Kyle Mohan kinda is pushing me to go rotary :P Duh!

heres my interview at formula d new jersey and some in and out car runs

anyways

the car was in an accident and the front end will need to be redone

first time seeing the car on pictures

when i first went to see it after trading my wrx for the evo 3 and the evo 1 gsr smashed

after sitting there since like january i went to pick it up finally

the 3 evos or Threevo lol :P

some damage and missing door that the guy had sold,... damn lol

shock tower bent and frame rail too...

some of you might know pisarski's rally colt well thats now being trashed cuz of blown engine and alex now wants to track the evo sooo he's got a montero for puller and evo track mama now the colt is the parts car to fix some bo-bos

front end of the colt undamaged

ok back to rwd evo build

gay chrysler logo on fender in place of indicators, now these will be replaced with indicators that i have poped them out for now

door bolted on, fender just put on not bolted

hood on but only so it doesnt rain into the engine, anyways i got something planned for the hood you guys will see duh

as for body will probably do something custom wide-body dunno yet we'll see

was planning on using a s13 front subframe but there are rules in my local drift competition that i plan on competing in once my car is finished basically it says no changing subframes must use stock mounting points so that puts a big X on my s13 front and it says ethier stock subframe which wont work or tube frame, soooo with that said i'll have to make a tube frame for the stock subframe or mod the stock subframe to work and try and pass the inspection, also have some rules for the transmission tunnel but i should be ok, heres the rulebook

8.3.1 Basic Chassis Design
The vehicle chassis, frame and / or uni-body must remain unmodified between

the vertical planes created by the original forward most and rearwardmost suspension mounting points unless otherwise specified in these rules.Uni-body or chassis may be seam welded.

8.3.3 Modifications of the stock, OEM firewall and transmission tunnel are allowed as follows:
Version 2.2 April 25th 2012
DRIFT MANIA CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP 2012 Rules and Regulations
 Dimension A: Tunnel Width May be no wider than 18 Inches
 Dimension B: Minimum dimension of 10 inches between the bottom of
the windshield and the top of the transmission tunnel.
 Dimension C: Modifications of the driveshaft tunnels behind the transmission tunnel taper vertical plane should not exceed an overall
width of 10 inches.
 Dimension D: Modifications to driveshaft tunnels behind the
transmission tunnel taper vertical plane should not exceed an overall
width of 10 inches.
 Taper Length: (from the firewall to the end of the transmission tunnel
into the beginning of the driveshaft hump) may be no longer than 36
inches.
 No part of the engine casing may cross the vertical plane of the original
firewall into the transmission tunnel.
 No other modifications may be made to the vehicle chassis, frame, or
uni-body unless otherwise specified in these rules.
 Any holes in the firewall must be of the minimum size for the passage
of controls and wires, and must be completely sealed to prevent the passage of fluids or flames from the engine compartment to the cockpit.

8.3.4 Front cross member and/or front or rear sub-frame
The cross-members and the sub-frame front and back may be of origin or tubular fabrication. The cross members must be located at the exact same position as the one of origin of the car and must not be displaced on the frame and cannot be cut and the “chassis” cannot be modified as stated in point 8.3.1. The arm suspension anchor points on the origin part or tubular fabrication may be re-located from its original position.

my friend kristian's evo rwd front subframe

so tube frame front like nilus

any advice and support is greatly appreciated

Default Re: Rotary Powered Drift Evo WTF Build?

check out my video diary as i progress in my build in the first episode i talked about sr20 but next video episode 3 that is i'll probably talk about the rotary engine again, i'm not 100% sold on rotary yet, but its looking better lol

for episode 2 basically i took the engine out of the colt and take a look at what i'll need to do for the evo to get the transmission tunnel working also talk about chopping colt rear quarter panels to fix the evo incase of rear ending or wall tapping etc lol

basically the evo 1 gsr weights 1,240 kg!! FD RX-7 weights 1,282 kg!!! lol soo imagine a stripped gutted evo with rx-7 engine lightweight would be looking for 300-350hp to start with I know thats do able easily to with fd engine but what about the fc engine?? can I run a fc engine with fd transmission? etc little things like that I need to know, would it be better just to start off with an fd engine btw will be buying a front clip so everything would be included

soo why an rotary powered Evo Rwd Drift car? style points, badass points just think of it, evo drifting , Evo with Rotary Drifting (JAW DROP!!!) lol

this would be the series i'd like to drift in at first
Home - Driftmania Canadian Championships

thanks guys

Just do it dude. 350 is not hard to get with the right turbo and tuning out of an fd motor. Did you end up going sr20?
