This will be my third Front Cover I will be putting on a block off plate to the MOP. With It In front of me - I'm tempted to remove the ring gear at the back of the Front Cover as I no longer use the stock Oil Injection System as I rely on premixing...any consequence to It's removal?

I removed MOP and left the ring gear in. If memory serves me correct, when you do leave the ring gear out, you'll find you have ALOT of end play.

Maybe I'm smoking crack. There's a gear that attaches to the E-shaft. That gear turns another gear inside the front cover. Is this second gear called the "ring gear" That gear goes to the OMP. That is also the gear I removed.

I thought the same gear turned both the MOP and the CAS?

I took out the shaft and gear on the MOP shaft... ?

WARNING!!!!

To everyone who removes the drive for the OMP, be SURE to block off the oil feed at the block or the front cover flange. Its the little hole in the gasket area by the CAS. Failure to do so will result in spun front main bearings. It took me 3 bearings in 15k miles to figure that out.

dont take it out you might change your mind someday and then be too old and lazy to pull the front cover off to fix it

could you elaborate more on that?

I have removed my gear on my rebuild and it has 25k on it now and everythings is cherry.

I used a block off plate on the front cover for the omp and that's it.
