This rotor is supposedly done by a place in Miami called CLR Motorsports. Opinions or addition info?

They do good work. What is nice about that rotor is the machining on the side of the rotor to open the port up.

I know that SDJ uses then to mill the 3mm seal

Would that type of rotor be intended for FI or n/a, or good for both?

Wouldn't that depend more on compression?

Wouldn't cutting out part of the face of the rotor decrease the compression?

yeah i was thinking the same thing.... and wouldnt that technically increase the engine displacement?

there was a topic on this a while ago i think, and it was basicly said that as long as the bowl (or whatever you wanna refer to it as) isnt comprimised, then compression isnt lost.. i think

Any time you increase the clearance volume in the chamber, the compression ratio drops. Clearance volume can be increased by milling the bowl, or the faces, it doesn't matter since it all affects the chamber just the same.

You could even decrease the compression ratio by sticking extra crush gaskets under the spark plugs. The difference would be extraordinarily minor, but still measurable.

The displacement is completely unaffected by the clearance volume. Displacement is swept volume, you are not changing the circumference of the rotor housing or the width of the rotor, so swept volume remains the same.

If I remember correctly the side cuts are to hold the ports open longer.
