hi, I new to this board but I own a 82 rx7 and just recently got a delorto carb for it. I was wondering if anybody could give me a link to a web page on how to install it or could just tell me how. I was wondering what things to remove like the air pump and other emission things. what vacume lines will I keep? any help would be great.

you need a manifold for that carb, i believe dellorto's have the same bolt patterns as weber ida's. Racing beat and mazdatrix both sell the manifols you need!

BTW where did you find a dellorto I have been looking for one for a long time?

yeah I have a racing beat manifold, a new fuel pump, and fuel pressure regulator. I had to talk to a few people to get it but I got a hell of a deal on it.

What size is the Dellorto?

Which motor are you running in that 82? 12a or 13b

What if any modifiations? exhaust, ignition, porting, etc.

FYI

racing beat sold those and they came with some blocking plates I think for the manifold setup. You have to make sure if the carb is set up for your motor.(12A-13B)

When I bought them from racing beat you specify what size engine so they set up your jetting. there should be brass throttle linkage also.

You know those cheap *** Purolater dail choke regulater's ...at minimum get one.

Or get the holly cheapo. They say what PSI to set (I know its lower than a Holly I forgot)4.5??? This carb sputters in hard turns in Auto X. I think float drop was 15mm. It needs to be checked and thats easy enough. Its a cool carb but I prefer Webber 48 DD.

Enjoy that thing!!!

well it is a 12a motor. I know for a fact that the manifold and carb are for the engine. as for mods on the car shouldn't matter for installing the carb but for tuning it which I can tune it. but I have RB haders, the whole cat/catback exhaust, msd box/coils, jacob elect. wires, on a stock port (shortly will have a streetport). the carb is a 48 ida. And I just not familar with the rx7's emission/vaccume lines and etc like that. so can anybody help me with a list of things to be removed, and which lines I will need to use?

Ya shad

The dhla 48 was originally designed for custom VW's and porshse but is well suited to either a well ported/open exhaust 12A or 13B. If you haven't done so already you may want to do your street-port to your 12A before you try to install/ tune the 48.
