decided on a kit
#1
i am about to order the cooling mist basic kit. the $199 price tag is very attractive. but i wanted to see if anyone here has used this kit and whats your take on it...
what i dont like is when it comes on, its fully open. no progression. so if i set to start spraying at 7psi, its spraying the same amount all the way up to the 18-22psi i plan on running.
also, i plan on running distilled water only with no intercooler. will i have any trouble running safely in the 20+ psi area on pump gas, or would a mix of alchohol or methonal be needed to do this?

got it, in the process of installing it. my kit: 150psi pump and the 361-500 hp rating wich has an M8 nozzle.
http://www.coolingmist.com/detailmain.aspx?pid=Cool150
an idea before i fully install it:
i was thinking of running two nozzles in a staged set-up. an M3 nozzle to activate at 3-4 PSI and my M8 from the kit to activate at 10PSI. i am not running a progressive controller. would i just need a second boost switch to do this, and just split the wires? or would a complete secondary system be needed (pump, boost switch, ect)?
Side note if anyone can help here:
it says on my pump that i should not run pure alchohol through the pump, or anything more than 50/50 because it is flamable. whats the difference between methanol and alchohol? because it says under features that its all 100% methanol compatible.

I know you are looking for customers who have purchased either kit to answer for you. I will chime in to give you our standpoint, you make your own decision. Hopefully customers will chime in and you can make a decision. Snow Performance is the only company we consider to be our direct competitor, so we get this question several times a day from our phone customers. I will not say anything bad about Snow Performance, but I can give you some key features of our products and you can decide.Every part of our kit is 100% methanol compatible. Our checkvalve is made of brass, can handle over 300F and 600 PSI
Our fittings are 100% brass quick disconnects. No Nylon or plastic clips.
Our 6 quart tank (1.5 gallon) has the pump inside it. This means you dont have to mount the tank and pump, just strap the tank down and you are done.
