Got this S5 turbo 2 plates of a friend and i am using them on my motor,as you can see the have a decent size BP,what do you guys think of this port?is the eyebrown to big or not?Im gonna run the motor using stock 2mm corner seals without the inserts the reason why im not going solid is that i got several set of the new atkins corners and when they got spec they are way of(not in specs at all)so my questions is will this motor run fine on regular corner seals or do i need to get solid?what other options i have on 2mm solid corner seals if any.thanks guys

are you going to be running it as a turbo motor or not?

what are your emission laws like? if you pretty much have none and its going to be n/a id make the bridge bigger, you could open a bit earler and all so close it a bit later.

if your going to run with the standard 2mm seals remove the rubber insert thats in them, youll lose some low engine speed compression but it saves you destroying your engine at 8000rpm because it decided to jump out into the port.

this its gonna be a turbo motor(62-1 1.15 AR divided)running microtech LT8S,for the building im using,OEM hard seals and soft seals(third gen corner seals springs)what about if i only use the rubber inserts on the slots that are gonna face the center iron?that may help a little bit on the comp issue.Emmisions is not a issue

I have seen a few cases of the non solid OEM corner seals(keyhole type) break, probably due to a too worn rotor, but it can happen.

Solid OEM corner seals come in oversize sizes. 0.03mm O/S usually fit straight into a 100K rotor with no reaming and a 0.2mm O/S that needs reaming

Sorry no solid OEM 2mm only 3mm

Maybe aftermarket

The new flat corner seal springs will grind a non hardened plate(surface ground) plate in a week. I haven't run tests on long term wear on Bridgeport plates with the new strong flat type springs. The reduced support area at the bridge may increase wear .

since your going turbo run solids, the amount of heat that will be in your combustion chambers will take there toll on your corner seals and will probibly crack them after a while but again with solids you sacrifce some low rpm sealing for stronger seals

as for the whole s6 spring debate, hey run with them i say ive seen plenty of engines running them and they have all been sweet as, but if your going to skim your plates without renitrating them then the life of your plates will be compomised

as for your port, since its going to be a turbo engine i wouldnt worry about opening it any earlier but id make it close later.and with your center plate have a nice big extended port.
