Apex to Apex groove clearances

I am clearancing my 3mm FD rotors. Going with .002 for the apex to apex groove clearance. How do you guys sand down the grooves? I need to sand the groove in some places.. Thanks..

I used a Hard honing stone to clean up the grooves.
