48mm IDA Weber Acc pump jets dripping constantly with 13b Bridgeport
Hey all,
have got this annoying problem where the acc pump jets/nozzles are dripping constantly making the idle completely untunable.. its doing my head in, I have never encountered this before and cannot for the life of me work out what is happening..
13b full cut Bridgeport s4 Rx7 block
newer style Spanish IDA with press in acc pump jets (check ball inside)
fuel pressure 3.5psi
everything is set as it should work.. but with this carb fuel continues to run out the pump nozzles and as you can imagine screws the idle by continually flooding at idle.
otherwise the carb works fine,
any ideas greatly appreciated.

get an empi 48mm or 51mm ida, chinese brand but the casting is near perfect and some local engine builders using them are claiming 6-7 more horse power. i use one on my 12a and its a tidy looking carby compared to the webber version.

yea ive had a look at the EMPI carbs.. back to to the weber, final story was that the polisher had messed it up, and polishing compound had gotten into the bearing bore that support the butterflies and the shaft bearings had ceased with the heat, spun and reamed out the bore, resulting in so much vertical shaft play that the acc pump circuit was operating just enough with the pulsing down draft that the jets were dripping. fixed for good now, put oversize bearings in. solved..
Polisher...fired.
