This weekend I made some of my brackets for suspension. It dropped suddenly and has gone very well. Starting to agree with the TIG-welder, and begin to realize that TIG is for us who can not MIG / MAG :)
It is slow and calm :) https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1345478240 Then weld all as much as possible before it is installed in the car to where also welded into the frame. The sole purpose of avoiding weld so much in uncomfortable positions :) https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1345478240 Then the most important today :) I was to pick my crank! Finally! Now it's just for me to continue with splines etc.. Let the pictures speak for themselves :) https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1345478240 https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1345478240 https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1345478240 https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1345478240 Isn't she beautiful?? https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1345478240 |

Re: 4 Rotor Build in Sweden
Have some thoughts.
Do not know exactly how to setup my 4 rotor. I can build a full throttle PP, much power on high rev. Or perhaps a Semi-PP little more driveability, longer curves? Or, finally, a complete side-port setup? Sideport-setup takes som heavy mods on the FD-plates, but nothing is impossible. I would rather not overcharge, but it might be a possibility together with the side port and low boost. This first setup will not be a power-setup, it would be a road-legal-version if it's possible. What do you think? |
Re: 4 Rotor Build in Sweden
yes and no.......? semi pp might have you a better chance at keeping the noise down . but then less power. its your toy in the end. keep the pics coming.

Last friday I recived some new parts.
1pc front, 1pc rear, and 3pc intermediate-plates from FD. But I'm still looking for good housings... I have 2pc S4 N/A-housings that I can use, the other two are just for mockup. The best would be to find 2 S4 N/A, or get 4 new ones... https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1346696438 https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1346696438 Let the mods begin :-) |

Re: 4 Rotor Build in Sweden
Do you have drawings, and can I get a copy of the 4 rotor shaft drawings somewhere?
|
Re: 4 Rotor Build in Sweden
Sorry, I will not give the 4rotor-drawing away like that. I don't even sell it to those who have asked.
First of all, I don't know if it's working. And second, there is to much time just to give away. |
Re: 4 Rotor Build in Sweden
Thanks for the reply. I can figure out the drawing. I can not find out about balancing the shaft. Do you have any suggestions?

Therapy!
Made me two custom-bolts with one side M10x1 to fit the front iron, and a regular M10x1.5, who is standard, on the other side. Just to make me a dummy :) Feels awsome to see the engine for the first time, even that it is a fake :) https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1351277701 https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1351277701 https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1351277701 |

I almost forgot.
Here in Sweden we have an old auto-profile that we call "Bosse Bildoktorn". The translation is "Bosse the car-doctor" :) He has his own radioshow that people call and get help fixing their cars... Here he is with my "shaft" ;) https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1351278159 |

------------------------------------------------------------------ It rolls on! Have got so far that I could push the cage down from the boxes and start welding. We have a total chaos in the garage right now, it use to be pretty crowded, but now it's extremely ... We've only 100m2 to share :) Started with one side, it took a terrible time because I was terrified to grind too much every time. Think I lift up that pipe in place hundreds of times. Attachment 16050 Pipe number two took 10minuter :) Suspect everyone is doing like this, but I simply took two paper and rolled around the ends of the finished tube. Templated by, measured the distance between the papers on the tube, and made sure the seams were aligned with each other. Then I took off the paper, and turned inside out on the next tube. Mirror: D Again, it was I who was a coward, leaving a few millimeters on the first try, but then I put on like a glove! https://www.nopistons.com/attachment...ine=1353743752 Here is a view through the speaker hole. The passenger side rear view. http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/z...122_195330.jpg Welding! It was at the famous, that it was possible to bring down the cage when it is so tight everywhere. Had to break away mounts to the dashboard. Attachment 16051 |

Have used the CNC Lathe to turn my bushings to all wishbones today. Also has a movie on this, but it is so cruel big, so I have to do something there ...
Acetal (POM), also called Delrin, and stainless steel sleeve which is internally reamed to tight fit the bolts. Attachment 16044 |

Today I've been working on the fixture to the new housings. It also fit stock housings and iron as well.
First up with dowels to match the machine, and countersinked bolts to be out of the way. Attachment 16021 Testing with a stock housing to make sure I did it right. Attachment 16022 And one of the new ones, let the game begin! Attachment 16023 Some motivation :) |
