SCCA Regional/National, MSR-Houston, April 5-6

SCCA race in Houston, Texas this weekend. I'll be there with one of my rentals, unfortunately not racing (not so unfortunately, really, since I'd hate to personally contribute to Houston Region SCCA). If anybody is in the area and wants to check out the race, look for this sweet G-ride:
It'll probably be carrying #65, and will be in the paddock with an ugly GMC Motorhome and probably a 26' white enclosed trailer. Come say "hay", I promise I dont bite.

The Club and our Division have a lot of problems... but Houston has a particularly harmful RE at the moment that is doing a damn good job of alienating members -- and not just his own. Plus, the track over there is fairly rinky-dink. It's one of those super-technical Alan Wilson designs but it isn't very enjoyable or rewarding, unless you sell brake pads.

Yeah, Tom is a big reason we got into Spec7's over 10 years ago. We did some work on an EP car down here and came to some conclusions that Tom was coming to simultaneously as far as springs and shocks go. When we told Jim Susko he said, "Tom is gonna be mad!" but that car ended up getting destroyed at the Runoffs.
I wish I had been there to see him fly the Texas flag on the cool down lap! Been a while since a true Texan won in a competitive class (after getting through tech, anyway).
EDIT to add: I didn't mean to imply everybody in the Houston Region was bad, they've just got a few bad apples in high places. Such a shame that one group can bring down a whole Divisions' racing program down like I think they are.
