WTF!!! - I took my TII out and was gonna run the 1/4 with it. This tech inspector started crawling over my car with a fine tooth comb. My battery is relocated to the rear in a sealed Moroso box. I was told because its in the rear of my hatchback car I have to have a kill switch on the outside rear of the car to kill that battery.
Sooooo.... My bone stock 2003 Mini Cooper S has its battery in the back from the factory. Am I correct to assume that I would not be allowed to run that either.
I mean in all honesty I was planning on 1 pass and getting kicked out anyway but the tech inspector sent me packing before a single run.
So now I ask if I want to make a 11 second pass and not get kicked out what all do I need that is not obvious.
- I am getting a Roll bar installed but not a full cage - Do I need a full cage?
- I saw somewhere a driveshaft loop is needed as well
- Do I need a scatter shield?
- If I pull my battery from the car and just use a quick jumper to start it will that eliminate me having to drill a hole in my car to install a battery kill switch?
- Should I just say screw it, install the kill switch for the battery and fuel install a full cage and fire system so I am legal for Road course as well and in the end safer.
Any tips or help is appreciated.
BTW - And the authorities want to know why street racing is so popular? I felt as though they were dying to find a reason to boot me.

if it's a nhra track you need a 4 pt bar, a fire jacket, and of course a helmet if you run 11.99, 11.49 at an ihra track.
the cooper s will be allowed to run becuase it came that way from the factory.
i would just go ahead and get the cage, cut off switch, etc.......you know you will need them eventually
i don't think the whole not having a battery thing is a good idea. pain in the *** unless the lines are downhill, what if you want to keep your fans on between runs? also, can't the alternator get damaged from running with no battery?

13.9 you need a helmet, 11.9 4point cage bat in back unless stock need cut off switch and vented to outside (old rule book don't know about now) you don't need scatter shield or drive shaft loop yet thats in 10's and 9's. Nhra gets real **** they even have a space requiement for the gap between seat an cage.
