So we thought we'd get the T2 to the track at least once this year. Changed the oil, fixed the oil pedestal o-ring leak, and went racing. I let the wife drive, since she's quite a bit lighter than I am, and somehow she almost always gets a faster ET. Plus she kills me at the light. Anyway, her first run was an all-time best with the car, now running on Hoosier DOT drag radials. Clocked a 13.65 at 103.83 and a 1.90 60-foot. She was missing third gear a lot on subsequent runs, but did manage to cut a 1.89 60-foot--also an all-time best for the car.

Yup. I was pretty impressed. She had been bogging the launch ever since we put the new tires on, so I told her to try to break it! She went from a 3500-ish RPM launch to a 5500-ish launch. Said she got a little wheel hop, so I guess I need to let a little air out. I had them pumped up pretty tight--32 psi or so. I figure I'll drop 'em to a little over 20.

Sad thing was, her friend was there with her new car--a mid-80's Camaro with a built 350. That engine in a different Camaro has been in the 12's. My wife had her off the line, since the Camaro was wearing street tires, but my she missed third and lost.

Still a good night. Might try to get out one more time this year.
