Racing beat intake, dellorto carb
Hey guys,
Just joined the site to try to get some feedback from some folks that know rotary stuff, I'm in to Hondas, and know no one with rotary stuff.
But anyway I was in the junkyard the other day and spotted an 1979 rx7 with a shiny air breather, so I investigated. I looked at the intake manifold and breather and they said racing beat so i figured that these parts were worth grabbing. I looked at it and decided to take it, attached to it was a funny looking carb but it had a racing beat breather with K&N filter so i took the whole assembly. The guy at the counter immediately notified me that I had a Dellorto carb and that someone would really want it. I was glad to have rescued it from the crusher but now I don't know what to do with it, i was thinking of throwing it on ebay but im not sure wjat this stuff is worth.
Well what do you guys think?

Re: Racing beat intake, dellorto carb
Basically you have 2-3 parts from the pics... could be more or be less, I'm not 100% sure.
Here is Racing Beat's website for the parts: Intake - Weber - Early Rotary & 1975-85 Mazda RX-7
I'm not sure how much you got it for, but you could put it up for $250 and see what offers you get.

Re: Racing beat intake, dellorto carb
Of the Weber/Dellorto carb kits for the RX-7 that one is the worst for power.
(1) good middle and best top end power was the straight out side draft version.
(2) best midrange was the downdraft, 90 degree bend.
(3) best low end and worst top end is the over the engine 180 degree bend.
With #1 on my street port 12A, dynoed 185 whp. It was faster than a RB 13B stock port with the downdraft version. A ram cold air box does help!
