I think there are a lot of folks like me who have read thru that How to and still have many questions. Maybe because I am not familiar with electrical components. Could be easier once I have everything in front of me. There are many parts and terms mentioned I am not familiar with.

Why doesn't some one sell calibrated units? They could base it on a trade in of the old one.

I was thinking about doing that - since my field is electronics it all makes perfect sense to me but I can understand why soldering a resistor onto your gauge may make someone cringe :) The hardest part about it looks to be the calibrating of the gauge - and basically you're just adjusting the thing to your particular car - will take a little patience and a screwdriver.

I haven't done this mod yet either, but when I get my car back from the shop its going on. After I have first-hand experience doing it, I'll be happy to do it for others.

This mod is actually really easy, the hardest part is removing the gauge hood. Getting all of the electrical connectors off the back of the gauges is a pain in the ***. However, I am *very* glad I did it, I used to be paranoid about overheating the car if I accidentally got stuck in stop-n-go traffic due to all the horror stories you hear of people overheating their engines. Now I can actually see the temp gauge move as the car starts to heat up, and it gives me a visual reminder to hit the fan-mod switch.

i like having the temp guage on a pillar along with boost don't have to look down. i have one eye on boost and temp guages and one eye on road at all times. its nice to be like oh **** i hit 15psi and still have apex seals or when you see temp guage hit 210 then drop down to 185 :sarcasm:

I had XS tune my PFC and they set the fans to come on at 87C and that made a HUGE difference. My temps never really get higher than 90C. I also dont have to worry with hitting the ac button or a fan mod switch.....Its sooooo nice!!!!

Later,
