ya but i think the greedy turbo gives u alot and there are other things you can do it like.....
1. greedy turbo......60
2. exhuast........15
3. headers......10
4. ecu..........25
5. drop the cadlyaic coverter.....5
6. cold air intake......5
7.can u get injector for it yet....?
8.lighted fly wheel...10
9. fuel pump and filter...10
so that gives a whooping total of....375 hp far short of that 600 mark lol

The answer is, as much as you can pay for.
There isnt really any reason not to strap a huge *** turbo on there as long as you can tune it and are willing to blow up a few to get there.
A better way to think about maximum potential is to not start thinking what can I add drop from stock, but start with no powertrain and then think your way up from there.

Yeah, again the case of "if your pockets are deep enough, it can happen." There's going to be tons of research thrown at the RX-8 so long as interest holds out. I read an article in a magazine a couple of weeks ago where a guy spent huge amounts of money to research a 15hp upgrade. He finally got it right, and hopefully he'll sell them to make his money back.

Why do you care.
You're talking about an "unlimited" vehicle.
Which means power is limited only by the amount of money you can throw at it.
Throw enough boost at it and have enough fuel for it, and your power is limited by money.
Stock RX-8 motor hasn't gotten over 500hp even with turbos yet.
Those side ports are very restrictive for big power performance.
I doubt you'd hit 600.

I agree with RETed on how restrictive the renisis exhaust ports are. People forget that the motor was built for efficiency, reliabilty and for the most part to pass emissions. The periferal port is the ultimate port design hands down. The thing I like the most of the rx8 motor is its rotors and the compression ratio. I wish someone would come out with higher compression rotors for racing somewhere around 13 to 1 would be great.
