First of all...I'm definatly not an electrical guru, I'm not completely stupid when it comes to stuff like this, but definalty not an expert!

Heres my setup:

S5 T2 4 port block

S5 N/A rotors thermal coated by JHB

T2 rotor housings with a Cermet B coating by JHB

Agressive Bridge port on the secondary ports

Streetported primary ports

RX-8 stat gears

T2 intake manifolds

RB header with a full 2.5" exhaust

Currently using stock S4 N/A fuel injectors along with all the stock S4 N/A electronics.

What should I be doing for ignition! I have read lots about people using MSD boxs ect.

I will be ordering a Megasquirt V3 next week to wire up because the stock electronics just aren't going to work. So tell me what I should get for ignition and what timing specs to set it to. I like the idea of running no timing split as well.

Thanks guys!

Joe

i'd run an msd (or equivelant) on the leading.

id start with the idle timing around 5btdc L +/- 5 degrees, and then after about 2000rpms, i'd go to about 20btdc L

start there, you're gonna end up with w.o.t. timing in the 22-26btdc range, cruise should be in the low 30's

but if you've gotta tun fuel and its a new combo, you can set it to like 20 and then fix everything else.

if it was my car id be running about 10degree split, although its not a super huge deal, na

Thanks for asking the question Joe. I was wondering the same thing. Good to have you test out the set-up first, LOL.

As a side note, all the rebuild parts have been ordered and should be in next week.

For even more power run it with no timing split since you are running N/A.

The MSD will definitely do it some good. Remember Bridges like fuel so it might be time to upgrade that side too. That will also give you a slight edge on being able to tune it for now.

Heh, heh, heh. I can do this for you. Been messing with half-bridgeport daily stuff for 3 years now. Managed to get just over 20mpg on a trip once, too. Toss me a msg if you need some help with this.
