which tranny has best gear ratio's for drag? and/or top end

 

for stock drivetrain, fc3s GTUs and FD type rz



both have final drive ratio of 4.30

 

Dont forget about the rear end. That has a major factor as well.

 

which combo would u recomend? gtu tranny an rear end? or different rearend?

 

l would get a 430 rear. I have heard of people doing this and having good success w/ it. I went with a 410 and wish now I went 430.

What about the 6-speed Mazdaspeed tranny? 4.30's I presume? Or is that only in the RZ?

 

i would luv tha new 6spd out of tha 8 espesially that shifter but that tranny's gonna cost an *** load an i dont really have an assload 2 spend.....im only shoppin round now so i can know which to buy when i get tha money

 

Mazdaspeed sells the 430 rear gears. I have no clue what people are talking about with the 430 trannies. I do not know a whole lot about tranny gearing so I will stick with rear gearing.



I needed new gears and Mazdaspeed was out of stock of the 430's so I bought the 410 gears, in hindsight I wish I waited and go the 430's.

 

Wouldn't the speedo be off going from 410 to 430?

Or is there some trick to fixing that?
