Dry Sump
#1
I know how a typical belt-driven dry sump system works. The one for rotary engine is weird....it's mounted on the front cover, and it has 2 connections. It appears to be internally driven for I can see no belt. How does it work? Does it use an oil tanks like a conventional dry sump system?

Yes, it draws from a tank usually mounted on the fire wall or in the car .
I have the the peterson dry sump system for the RX7 and it has been modified so that the pump actually is mounted on the front cover and is driven by a two inch
toothed belt with the new main pulley. The oil pan is non existent so you can lower the motor several inches and not hit the ground and lower the CG of the car.
It depends also on which version from Mazda Comp you get.
