Bridge port tuning 13B turbo
#1
Can any body offer me any advice. I am being asked to help tune a bridge port 13BREW enigne.
Its blown with a GT42r turbo with AE1000 fuel pump 1680 secondaries 850 primaries. open wategata and side exit exhaust.
The car need to make aroung 500hp
So far all i have is the original map from the old extended street port engine which made 520FWHP at 1.2 bar.
Can anybody help.
Also if anybody has a safe is timing map or fuel map i can use to kick this thing off it would help a lot

id back the timing of a bit, and either richen the whole street port map, or start there
I was i thinking along those lines. Its gonna be difficult to know how much more air the engine will flow with the new port size. I really need to take a look at the current map in the ecu to get an idea of the setings and values it currently holds. I feal it will be safer for me to add about 25% extra fuel inthe boost areas and retard the timing by a couple of degrees. Im not 100% confident of the tuning skills of the previous person to map this ecu so i have no idea what he may have done to the split.
The other option is to go for a differant engine with a part tuned motec ecu in place of this set up

Personally I would leave that to a professional tuner, accepting the fact that they are thin on the ground in the UK. If you must do it yourself then do it slowly and progressively concentrating on getting the off boost fuel map right first, as once you know the NA torque curve you can extrapolate on boost requirements from your good friend the ideal gas law.
