93-95 Hotwire Spark Plug Wires
#1
I just bought a set. The description sounds pretty cool. I had read about these plasma packs on Mini's people swear there is a seat of the pants difference.
Anyone using them?? How do you like them. I have the stock FC ignition system. Any other upgrades you reccomend I should install with these. Coils. Also I am running 4 NGK 9 Plugs. I usually run 10's but they tend to foul. It sounds like I should be able to run 10's without a problem of fouling now. Yes?

i have these wire and there pretty cool, the main thing i have noticed is the smother powerband then before and just a little more pull than before. it is fun to pull one of the pluggs and watch how far the spark will ark, it is crazy! it arks like 2" and when you get it close it is this mean looking thick yellow and blue spark!!

Not knocking the store hehe
I had them on my FD and they didnt last long. Shortly there after I came up with a mis-fire removed them, all good, just bad for my car I guess.
NOW more in depth, could be BS, but sounds good. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD GROUNDS. The reason for this is grounding your spark plugs for better power to an engine that doesnt have good grounds is a waste of time.
I heard this from a MECH here a while back, it sounds good so if you get or got the wires and you have an FC check into getting your grounds changed/cleaned/ rewired.

I have a 13B-REw swapped in. When we did the swap I bolted a 2 guage wire to a tranny bolt and lag bolted it to the frame of the car that is in addition to the stock ground points.
I did not notice a differance with these wires I will wait until I dyno 1st.
On a side note. I am trying once again to install the stock FD coils and ingnitor. I was told the FC coils become innacurate at high rpm. When we dyno'd at 15 PSI I was seeing some ignition break up at higher RPM's.
So many things could have caused it though. Bad plug gap for one. (I think the wires will help with that though) Thanks for the input.

i mainly noticed the dif. because i am running a carb jetted for see level at 4000 feet so more of that fuel geting sucked in is getting used... and i grounded them on the engine, on the tops of the rotor housings are a bolt hole (fb) wich was used to hold down the rats nest,
so just took the grounds up there 2 for each ground(leading trailing for the same rotor) have not seen any probs yet !!!
and they specifly to groung to the engine and not the chassy if anyone did not know.....
