How many of you have swapped in the 4.30 final drive gear ratio? Did it make a big difference? Was it worth the $500?

If you're going to add the TII transmission you should try to get a TII rear end as well. Then it's a good excuse to make the switch to 4.3. I've never used the 4.3 before, but people have told me they liked it. When I switch the rear in my car I'm going to go with the 4.3.

Yeah, I was going to swap out rear ends when I swap out my tranny. I am going to change the ring & pinion gears to 4.30 while its all out. Just wanted feedback from someone that has it in there car. I have heard that it'll shave about a second off your quarter mile time. You know if it's true?

I don't know if it will knock a second off of your time, but it should help alot. Why worry? You'll need a 7.5 to beat me. :newlaugh:

I meant a 7.5 ring and pinion. Did you think I meant the 1/4 mile?

I wish mycar could do 7.5's, but I don't think it would be very streetable. I live in NY. We have ALOT of RX-7's here.

You never see any 7s around here, well if you do its a 40 year old woman driving. Every once and a while I'll see a 2nd gen with exhaust, raced one once and killed it. The only fixed up 7s I see are 3rd gens, and it is rare. People fix up stupid **** here. The other day I saw a older Saturn on rims and a bunch of yellow stickers and a yellow racing stripe. Tons of hondas with 4 foot tall wings, but most of them are slow. I wish I saw more fixed up 7s around.

One solution would be to move.
