.You dont find it a bit boring to be driving the same car?
yeah somewhat.. its similar to the old 6s.. but definitely not the same.. specially once you drive it..

it looks and drives much more aggressively imho... the next car inline was the twinturbo beemer three series... but my wallet vetoed it..

may have to revisit that if the turbos on the speed keeps failin... and im on stock boost level with only a catback..

after working on a few speed 6's...i hate them.

had to do a left rear axle seal on one with like 7k miles on it today, pain in the ***.

then the car james is talking about had me tracing ******* solenoid actuators to find out why the car is overboosting.

wanna hear my personal opinion on why the speed6's are eating turbos?

the turbo's wastegate system is ******* retarded and broken, causing the car to overboost, constantly. Why does no one notice this? Because the code it sets within the pcm (i believe a P0234 or 243) DOESNT set the CEL, DOESNT save freeze frame data, it DOESNT do ANYTHING, it just tells you if you randomly plug in a scanner that the car is overboosting.

I was datalogging that speed6 to try to verify the overboost condition. You know what i find out? the car was boosting at idle....i **** you not. i brought it on the highway and it was showing 27+psi.

**** that.

do you have a boost gauge amp? if not, go get one and watch the readings, according to the mazda tech line it should never go over 17.9psi or something. if it does bring it to you dealer (after removing your aftermarket exhaust and/or intake if you have one) and tell them the car is overboosting according to your boost gauge and tell them to check the PCM...bet you you get a new turbo, since the stupid WG system is part of the turbo (its not the WG itself thats faulty, its some crazy 3 way WG system bullshit)

can sympathize kev.. although anyone workin on a car cause of an issue will usually generate hatred for it...

specially if its not your ride.. check out post 21 ... dealership ruled out the turbos... shes clean as a whistle.. no overboostin at all either

pressure goes to 17-18psi on initial romp but then settles to 14-15psi..

i dont actually hate the car, lol still a nice car. love the nav unit in it too.

just wrapping your head around the complex turbo system takes some time.
