I'd thought I'd share a little on a new project some buddies of mine and I have started. My friend's bro is 15 and gets his license in August and growing up with us and all our mr2s,rx7s,supras,etc he wanted to get a car that we didn't have and he wanted something sweet...so I told him about 240SXs and he started looking around and felt that its what he really wanted. So my friend's GF found this '89 S13 in the paper for $250 and we were thinking..it's gotta be blown up, torn apart, or something...well we checked it out anyways. Turns out, its just an '89 240 SOHC that had been wrecked, but mostly repaired, it needed a clutch and exhaust from what the owners told us(total burnout btw). Well my friend say what the hell and bought the car for his bro. Towed it home($80)...and we began to fix it up. My friends bro doesnt know much on cars, so we are using this project as sort of a "learning seminar" on import car tuning and once we hand the keys over in august, he'll hopefully have a good idea of what to do to the car and how to work on it. We replaced the clutch and exhaust, and found out that the brakes need repairing and it needs a new waterpump...all being fixed right now most likely. Then we ordered a body kit today to replace some of the banged up fenders. I'm getting tired of typing, but you all can keep checkin on it at www.1320engineering.com/projects.html under the "Project 240" part. Theres pics too!

I take it you saw the pics...man let me tell ya, that is the WORST clutch i have EVER seen in my entire life. It's all original w/ 137K miles on it. It came out just like in that pic...w/ no clutch material on it. There was a pile of asbestos in the bell housing and all over the pressure plate...oh well, the new clutch is good..and thats the important part. The other odd thing was...the flywheel was fine and the old pressure plate didn't show any bad signs of wear, just the clutch plate itself....

Good luck with the project man. Oh yea. btw- I saw a sweet black MR2 at school today. I'm not sure if it was turbo or not.. I don't know how to tell by just looking at it.. can't remember if there's a sticker/emblem or anything.. It may be the first one I've ever seen in person.. can't remember..

Turbo MR2s and NAs are hard to tell a dif from a quick look...exterior wise the turbo has a higher/vented hood lid, and the NAs have a flat hood lid...interior..the boost guage,lol..thats the real only differences.

Rotaryman88 where are you located at? The crew you have is just like mine. We have a 93 MR2 turbo(needs new tranny), an S13 240sx w/ SR20DET swap, 300zx TT(blown motor because he spun a rod bearing), 2 MKIII Supra turbos, Sentra SE R(all motor), Integra GS-R(all motor), 2 Civic hatchbacks (one all motor and the has a B16 swap w/ turbo), my 90 RX7 TII, and a 93 RX7( motor being rebuilt by Gotham Racing). The guy that owns the 240 and 300zx was thinking about making a website called 1320motorsports. Really wierd, huh? Someday we all need to get together and race or just shoot the ****. If you want the guy who owns the 240 has a turbo kit that will fit the ka24 motor. It has an MR2 turbo and a manifold that he fabed on his own. I think he's trying to sell it. The manifold isn't the greatest but it does the job. You could probably just use his design and make a new manifold theat is alot cleaner. Just let me know if you want it. This same guy did his own motor swap and it seemed pretty easy so if your friend ever want to go with the SR20DET just let us know and we can give you guys some help when you need it.

We're located in central Va. We actually have some 300z's TT and misc acuras that cruise with us but arent in the crew yet, lol. That turbo kit sounds cool, but I'm not sure which direction we're gonna go with the 240. The car is really for my friends bro when he gets his license, so we're just showing him how to mod it and drive it,etc. We will have an NX express kit on it by the weekend most likely...I'm pretty sure once the motor goes we'll end up doin an sr20det swap...or maybe even something crazy like a rb26dett,lol..who knows.
