Dsm Or Rx7 Tt
#1
I currently own a 1993 Eagle Talon TSi AWD i love DSMs and know what they are capable of. But i was thinkng of selling it for a 3rd gen RX7 TT. My car is pretty reliable and know RX7's arent. So i would like your guy opinions on what i should do. Stick with DSM and make a 11-12second street terror or get a RX7 and have the speed handling and styling i always wanted??

I had a DSM for a while, it only left me walking once. Over a full year it was down for maybe 2-4 weeks. I sold it and bought an RX7. I love this car much more and it looks better and is all in all a better car. Now that sad part, over the past year my car has been down for about 9 months out of th year and not due to weather. I would start one project which would turn into 3-4 and then I would need more mods to support those mods. I like this car but it is not reliable, the motor went in September and hopefully she will be running again this month with the new motor and single. So make sure you have a dependable daily driver to go along with your FD, unless you plan on leaving your FD stock. They are not bad cars just expensive ones.

first off, your **** must be at least 14" long to qualify for an rx7....but seriously...
i sold my 92 tsi about 6 months ago. they are fun and can be fast as hell. there are some quirky little differences between the first 2 gens that i didn't like, but as far as that, it only sucked if you had a second gen or a first with a 6 bolt main. the main problems with the 4g63 motor is that it, being an interference type drive, that if you repai a timing issue and do not get the tensioner or another crank exactly right using DSM factory parts, you will be hating life. trust me, i have experienced this first hand. not to mantion that they are hell to work on. the engines are shoved off in the underhood area like ron jeremy in a 10yr. old twatt.
i love the fd rx7. so much that well, i just nutted on myelf. it, of all the jap super cars, has been the best to me that i have owned and driven. i used to owna 300, but it was a bit slow for me. the rx7 has its alter egos, but are very containable if you are willing to invest some heart, soul, and time in it. There are some factory cooling issues that need to be tackled, as well as some turbo related vacuum issues, but once they are fixed, and you maintain your vehicle properly, your ride and fun will not be compromised.
there are only few cars out there that rival the fd beauty, and with the proper mods and tuning, very few that will challenge it.....
good luck
