Dodge Dakota Runs 217.314mph
#1
I never knew a Gale Banks tuned Dodge Dakota ran a 2 way average of 217.314 at Bonneville last year with a tuned Cummins V-6 Diesel.
360CID ( 5.9 liter ) diesel made 725hp/1300ft lbs of torque running on 59 lbs of boost.
They are using diesels in race boats more and more, its only a matter of time before we see more high performance applications on the street. I know on the Ford Powerstroke diesel a exaust, intake, and a chip they gain 150hp and over 180ft lbs of torque. Would be interesting to see more attention payed to diesels

You'd lose to this one . . .
Diesels are making huge progress, if you keep up with the UK mags they very highly rate some diesels like the Audi A3 Sport TDI, and the Alpina D10 (tuned diesel 5-series) rates evo's full five stars! 0-60 in 6.9 seconds
