Ok here is the deal I have been trying to sell my Mustang GT... not too many takers...

So if I end up keeping this car I want to pickup a 65-70 Mustang Fastback and using the Motor tranny rear end some of the interior on that car.

I want to be different! This would put in a non emissions class and also allow me to modify the hell out of the car. While retaining a reliable car. Also it would a car that could turn heads and run good #'s!

So what do you guys think of this? 66 Mustang fastback 302 EFI 5 spd with an 8.8 rear end???

Should be roughly as fast as my GT now and it would be a lot more fun! Looks alone!!! Not to mention ----> :bigok: <----- getting the thumb up from the car guys!!!! Everyone and their brother has a 5.0 stang.... I dont like being like the rest of the crowd!

Dont worry I wouldnt rip apart a worth while classic mustang... I would find a good 6 cylinder rolling shell which to convert with my cars insides...

That idea sounds great to me. No offense, but the GT 5.0s are dime-a-dozen. The classic 'stangs are really nice. I think a swap like that would be quite a worthy project.

Have you seen this mega 'stang? That thing is tight. h34r:

yeah they are a dime a dozen... it kind of helps having a vert but it is still a 5.0 GT....

Damn I like his intake manifold....

Thats kind of what I am aiming for....

except picture this....

66 Fastback

5 speed tranny

lowered 1 1/2 inches

riding on 17x7 front wheels

17x9 rear wheels

Nice exhaust

Rolled diagnol cut tips

Dark red or possible Midnight blue paint...

maybe a mild hood though I like the clean look....

Sounds nice, man. Perhaps you should turbo that sucker too. 13BAce posted a linky to the Cartech turbo kits for 5.0s over on your A4 kill post. I mean, if you're going to go for a project like this, might as well go all out, right?

If I ever had a V8 I would turbocharge it. I'd run either a big single or 2 small twins...probably the twins.

Ford Owners have been putting 5.0's in every Ford product out there. How about a 3.8 SuperCoupe Motor (Your know the SuperCharged one). The results would be the same, but it would be pretty unique. Or even a 4.6l?

well yeah that would be cool to do but I got this 5.0 sitting here right now... and if I was going to do something unique I would grabd the 3.4 yahama assisted 235hp V8 out of the SHO with a 5 spd.

Be truly original and put a fuel injected, turbo or non-turbo BIG BLOCK IN IT. Everyone and thier mother around here have put that 302 FI in things, including Volvos! ****, I know someone who put a small block chevy in thier Mustang.

yeah I would love to do a swap like that.....

But this is something that would be done on pretty tight funds.....

Also I would be doing this because I would have my GT laying around....

I am trying to get ready to get my Mitsibishi on the road. It may just get a minor exhaust and a bit of bodywork and rebuilt motor....

1988 Mitsibishi Cordia L

5 spd

1.9 litre carbed 4 cylinder

Manual everything

No sound deadening

Kind of a fun car to drive!

The problem with the Yahama SHO engine is it has that ***-backwards belhousing from the 2.8l Aerostar/Ranger which used the A4LD Transmission (AKA: PIECE OF CRAP).

The problem with a big block is the weight. It would be cooler than a smallblock swap though.

What else does Ford have? V-10 Triton?
