Seriously V mount. Now I am jealous. What was your original plan in relation to the fmic and rad?

Thanks

Yep, v-mount it is.I mounted up the IC and it blocked the entire rad. I did not like that design so I decided to go v-mount.

My original setup was to use the IC in the same location as you. I actually got all the work done and ready to go just did not like the way that it set. It was a huge waste of time. You have to understand that this setup was proven before. I however only plan on using this on fair weather days so that means that the temperature will be higher than most peoples DD, etc. I also was going to run the stock rad.

With the v-mount I intend on flipping the IC reverse so that the inlet/outlet are really close to the turbo outlet and TB inlet. This will allow for a lot less lag. And since my turbo already is supposidly situated for less lag I should have spool relitivley soon in comparrison to other turbos of this size.

Just to give you a comparrison the AF61(my turbo) with a FMIC supposidly hit 15lbs of boost at around 3700 RPM. I am assuing that the total amount of piping that is used for a FMIC is roughly around 8'. With my setup I will be running about 2-3' total of pipe. Not to mention that it will be all 3" aluminum.

The only downside to this is that I need to purchase a custom radiator and there will be a fair amount of bends in the IC piping. And also mounting all this up will be a little bit of a pain. One piece at a time is crucial though. I have already started the modifications.

how do you figure you are going to have a fair amount of IC tubing bends with how you are going to have it mounted? Maybe I am imagining it different but I would think you would only have three 90 degree bends and maybe a 120 degree from the turbo outlet to IC? Maybe you can illustrate as my imagination is not as good as it used to be LOL!

My winter project is to keep my car running til the end of winter so that should keep me plenty busy. Also, I wanna touch up the paint on some of the body panels oh and get a glass sunroof. I wish I had an awesome winter project but I can barely afford to keep my rx7 running as it is. Someday when I'm loaded I'll convert her into an IMSA pace car replica or maybe I'll just buy a third gen or maybe there will be some sort of crazy fourth gen rx7 out by then. Oh the possibilities!

Codeblue2 you should keep your TB and FI setup. This car ran 10's daily driven. It's a Florid car I wish I had more info. All you need is a t2lower intake mani and a RB upper weber attatchment like Iotus runs. There are my 2 cents.
