Hey folks,
I work at relatively large and growing Union sheet metal shop. 40-50 million in sales a year. We are currently looking to hire on two additional full time material handlers/delivery drivers. These are full time 40 hours a week positions. The shop is located in South Park, yes really. South of Seattle. Standard schedule is 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday thru Friday. Duties would include showing up on time everyday, driving a forklift, the ability to lift upwards of a 100 pounds, common sense, a semi clean driving record, they check, driving delivery trucks, flat bed Iszuzu's, trailers. Loading sheetmetal parts on the trucks, uploading sheetmetal parts. Additional helpful skills: reading a tape measure, reading a map, being familiar with hardware and fasteners, 3/8 bolts as opposed to 1/2 inch bolts, things like that. Ability to shut up and listen, follow directions, yada yada.
My requirements as a screener, No drugs, you will pee in a cup after being hired, no showing up drunk, no missing work. No going back to school in September. Now the goods. Starting pay around $15 hour, full benefits, medical, dental, retirement, Overtime pay after 8hours of work a day. Doubletime after 10 hours in the same day. Saturday time and a half all day, Sunday double time all day. Great job for a young adult looking to move out and start a life. This is union position, You may be able to find more info at Sheet Metal Workers Local 66 on the google or some kind of search.
