WAIT!

You are AutoX'ing that thing? AWESOME! How much does it weigh? And what are the engine mods? Is it a 12a or 13b? I can't tell by just looking at it.

It was built for both Solo I & II events. It has all the safety gear (minus the fire system) for Solo I but I mainly use it for Solo II (autocross). I have done a few track days with it and they were a blast, but with it painted and looking good, I may hold off untill it gets a few more dings it her to go out on the track again.

I need to scale the car after I did a bunch of changes. I dropped 15 lbs from the battery and a bunch with the 9lb flywheel, but then I added a few braces and supports. It was right around 1500 lbs before and it should still be about that.

It uses a street ported 13B from and stock trans from and '86.

Rear axle is from an '84-85 GSLSE and it was narrowed to fit.

It is quick (0-100) , but not as fast top speed wise as a 3rd gen. This car has to push a lot of air out of the way compared to the sleek lines of a FD. It does well at what it was intended to do.

damn... nice stuff Brian... I wish I could have made it up Thursday/Friday to help, but the red-eye from San Diego pretty much killed me all day Thursday and I had to go to friggin' Fairfax Friday... so much for "working from home"

oh well... it looks incredible...

Look at what I won this weekend!

I won the Competition Car Award for the best race car at the National Road Rally and Auto-x in Cumberland, MD. Unfortunately I did not get FTD. Two Porsches were only 1 sec faster than me. They were modified all-wheel drive turbo cars(996's), so they had lots of power and they could use it all. They cost over $165,000 each, so I figure I have at least $140,000 left to spend to be even . I think for about $5K I could kick there ***....but I think I killed my money tree growing out back! Oh well, I did beat tons of 'Vetts and other Porsches.

One of the old timers there was funny. He asked me what rpm I was hitting on the back straight of the course and I told him "a little over 8K." He wanted to know how I kept from throwing a rod till I showed him the motor. Then he knew why it sounded different.
