Can I Look At Your Hks Wastegate
#1
Anyone near Rockville, MD have an HKS external wastegate (Racing preferred but regular or GT OK too) on a shelf somewhere that I can run a simple pressure test on? It will only take 5 minutes and won't hurt it in any way
Thanks,
Brian

Yeah I'm having some boost issues with my car and I want to know what happens when you apply pressure with a Mityvac hand pump to the boost side port. I don't want to use an air compressor because it delivers too much volume.. I want small volume.
Mine leaks the pressure out very very fast and I have a hard time even building up 2-3 psi... I want to know if that's 100% normal or what.

Well I got this figured out. I know you guys are so interested
Turns out that even a brand new one leaks like mine does now but not as badly. I did some more testing on mine and determined that it is leaking around the hole where the plunger stem passes through to connect to the diaphragm. Think of having a bad valve guide on a boinger and you've got the right idea.
So for now, I'm just letting it overboost to 14 psi or so and it seems to catch itself there.
