I haven't had any personal experience with them. They have been there a long time, however. And about 4 years ago I asked the same question and got no negative response. I spoke with the owner about a 13bt rebuild and he was pretty knowledgable and friendly. Check him out.

i didnt have work done there, but i have been there to ask questions. They were friendly and more than willing to take time out to answer my questions. I heard they don't do performance stuff anymore though.

I have had very good experiences with alpine. The owner ( lou ) knows a lot about all generation RX-7's. They rebuilt my tranny on my SE and did various other things. There good, check them out!

Thanks for the responses!

I just got it towed down there last night, I'm going to need a new motor but for now they're just going to diagnose exactly what's wrong. I at least have a blown apex seal, after a shop up here took it out for a "test drive" when i brough it in for alignment.

But, I might use Alpine to drop in the new motor since its there. They say that they have done a number of FD motors, so if nooone else has anything bad to say, I'll probably go ahead and get them to do it. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I don't have the resources to get the thing up to KDR or down to Farrell right now. But I'm pretty confident with Alpine so far, like everyone has said they really seem to know their stuff and when i rolled in there were quite a bit of rx-7s there in the back.

More to come, I'll let you all know what happens.

thanks,

I was down there a few years ago looking for off the wall parts for the Midget. Nice people - they let me look through 2 trailers work of parts till i found what I needed! Now, I keep fogetting they are there. Please let us know how they treat you cause it is nice to have a good shop near by.

Just got my car back today at lunch. they put a mazda reman in, and i have nothing but good things to say about them. Lou (owner) taught me a few things, and was a great person to work with. i highly recommend him.

Now i just need to get this engine broken in so i can catch the tail end of this autoX season.
