Happy New Year Chicago
#1
Ok folks...we're going to do this again and this time with a little flair. Yeah, there are some that have said let the club die, but since when do I ever listen? This is for the ENTIRE rotary community hence the name. So you'll see this on the 8 site, JGTCA, and anywhere else there's any sub forum for 7s and 8s and the like. I'd like to resurrect this thing one more time and I am looking for everyone's help. In particular I'm looking for a few dedicated (as in for a specific task not just someone devoted, though that's a definite plus) people to help get this show on the road. Specifically one good with graphics/web design, one who may have an in with local businesses that cater to performance related goods and services towards rotaries (dealers or specialists) and one who may have a handle on non-profit organizations and the ins and outs of those.
Please EMAIL me at railgun69@yahoo.com with the subject RC3 if interested in something in particular, otherwise feel free to post away here with questions, comments, thoughts, suggestions, ideas or to criticize the **** outta me. I'm a big boy...I can take it.
Some of the things that I've left hanging out there is continuing on the new RX-7 registry that we worked on a little last year. A couple of great guys helped out in that endevor. There's a sticky with information in the 3rd gen section that has become stagnant. I'd like to have Chicago play a big part in getting that completed. I'm a new member with NASA, so I will be sure to relay any events that are open to you all so any interested parties can join us. Any events that you think of that you'd like to attend, let me know. Perhaps that with a strong enough showing and some financial support, we can offset costs associated with those events.
First thing's first in getting a site together with our own forums. We did have something last year, but issues with the provider were not worth the hassle of staying with them, in addition to the fact that the site became corrupted after they moved us to another server. Our domain remains which is still chicagorotary.com, but there's nothing there at the moment. I'd love some help to put together a classy looking site for us. I've actually spoken to Damian about perhaps some flash work and a family friend is a graphics designer. If there's someone internal to the Chicago community that can do this work, all the better (and hopefully cheaper) but if not, then so be it.
So let's get things off to a new and hopefully much better start than last year, get some interest and some support from you guys and gals and get Chicago back on the map.
To steal Amanda's line...
