Hello all, I'm new to rotors. I'm a garden tractor (Pro/Super Stock, 1 and 2 cyl. 1100 lb.) and mini rod (SuperModified 4 cyl.1650 lb.) tractor puller. Our end of the sport has just about every form of power that you can think of from 1 to 8 cylinders, gas, diesel, alcohol, 2 or 4 stroke, recently electric too, some engines are even homebuilt but I'm not aware of any rotaries in the 20 years that we've been pulling. Anyway, was interested a few years ago but it fell by the wayside, engine I was interested in (freedom ??) was pricey but not in a production run if I recall. The other day I started looking into it again after seeing some impressive videos on YouTube. I see that Atkins makes parts for a single rotor so I want to see what I could put together for an Open Super Stock class (several in the 80-100 hp. range). Anyhow, the Atkins intake manifold is for a 4 port, after some reading I think I want a second generation high compression NA rotor with a turbo housing, and port the front and rear plates for the 4 port turbo engine, use the front cover without the distributor, use the front coil and make a custom header. I don't know how you fill it with oil as the center section isn't used. Not sure but think I'm looking for a 13B rew ?? Is there a spec. list for all of the rotor/housing combinations and which will interchange. Does anyone know of it's (1 rotor) use or any peculiarities I should know about. Am I on the right track ?? Also might have to run Methanol, any problems with interactions with the seals ?? Thanks for any help. Geo

just wanted to add that the 89-92 non turbo rotor used with the 89-92 turbo housings is what I think I want.

Sounds plausible but I don't build engines so I'm not sure. The main reason you probably don't see rotaries is they don't make much torque. They can pull great numbers in the higher rev ranges but down low torque is very low
