New Member 88 non-turbo convertible
#1
Hello All,
My first post...I'm actually looking for the procedure to open/close the convertible top. I think I read somewhere that it should be opened half way and then something needs to be done, and then it can be lowered the rest of the way. I know it's probably simple, but I haven't had the opportunity to use it much since the car is getting the usual small "projects" to get it running after sitting for 9 years with the previous owner. Basically, the car has 118k and sat in a garage under "stuff"-- never to see the light of day here in Arizona...no rust, no humidity, garaged and otherwise in great shape.
Thanks in advance for any advice, and is there any access to an owner's manual (1988 convertible)??
Jeff

There's one button on the targa side of the top (lower left of the targa half from passender side) push in and up on the button and that will allow the targa portion to clamshell on its self. then continue with the swith to lower the rest of the way. Phins" way works too if you want to just remove the targa portion and leave it home for a long drive.
