one of my friends owns a brand new GT and hes been wanting to race for the longest time so i was out cruising so i called him and he told me to come by his place to a spot where alot of people race. so we get together and we do a quick scan of the place for cops to make sure there wasn't any hiding anywhere... so we line up and i've got a 170 friend in the car and he counts to 3 real loud.... we take off and all through first gear we were neck and neck. 2nd.... we were absoulutly neck and neck. and i got into 3rd thinking i should pull on him here HARD but i was only pulling on him just a little bit... enough of a lead where i was only ahead by my front tires. and i only won by about my mirror so we turn around and we are going to go again... and i tell my friend to jump out. so he waves us to go and its the same EXACT THING.... i launched from about 3k cause i've found thats a decent lauch spot and i was no further on him then i was before. so i thought, its either he did somthing to help him self or the 170 LBS. doesn't really matter all that much. but we go again on the way back and we were stoped with our four ways on and we were staggered a bit so the person behind us could weave through us and i line back up to go and i tell him to honk his horn 3 times this time and this time he was right on me the whole time. so all and all the eclipess' will stay door to door with my T2. (untill i mod.) so we get back to my friend and come to find out that person that weaved through us asked him if we were racing... and he said i dont know i'm just walking home. and he asked why and the guy told him that he was the cops. and that if my friend saw any racing on his way home, he was to call them. so it got hot fast and we BOOKED HOME. on the way home I got a new *** hole ripped open by a FWD Talon that was pushing 16 PSI. absouluty smoked me

 

Those eclipses and talons come with forged engine internals, so they can handle a lot of boost with no problems. Boost controllers work wonders for those cars. But at least you got that GT.

 

Like he said at least you got the GT but them GSXs are great cars especially if they have the 2.6 Stroker engine dropped in.

 

Those GSX's catch off the line like it's nothing. They're easy cars to hop up. But they are much more common place than a decent RX-7. That's one of the reasons I bought an FD.

 

Don't underestimate the 3G Eclipses...they're comin' around...

 

What the one you got?Do they have turbo kits out for them yet?

 

I know there's a couple supercharger kits out for them. The 95 through 99s still seem to be the weapon of choice.

I'm so deadset on getting an RX-7 I fear spending money on this car that could go towards an FD. However, my friend's SR20DET swap and boost-controller purchase is pushing me towards FI for my car.



There are 4 kits currently available for 3Gs: Ripp Modifcations' supercharger kit, XTech's turbo kit, API's twin-turbo kit, and Magna's twin-turbo kit. XTech's kit is making 247HP @ 5psi on Sporty trannies, so 300 on a 5spd is easily attainable. The kit uses a hybrid T03/T04 and a FMIC. API's is really drawing my attention though. It uses 2 Garrett ball-bearing GT28s in parallel @ 5.5psi.



Some guys running more boost are seeing low 13, high 12's, which is pretty amazing for this car!



My car makes about 180-somethin to the wheels (200 crank), which, I believe, is about what a GS-T makes. The turbo helps with top-end power though!

 

i went over to this kids house that night expecting to either kick his *** or get my *** kicked but it was pretty damn close but i have some mods up my sleeve hopfully soon. as soon as the money starts to come in here. he had the auto stick thing on his eclipes... i dont know if he was using it or not... i'll ask him tommarow in Auto Servicing

 

That tranny robs power like crazy! Unless of course he has the Level 10 upgrade...
