Hey all you rotorfreaks just thought i'd let you know about my all time favorite kill! Story goes like this, i've gotta RX3 coupe and happened to get my hands on a very nasty 12app race motor(bought 250-280hp), worked hard all day taking the old motor out and droppin my new beasty in, all was pretty straight forward and fired first pop so i decided to take it for a quick rip through town, any way driven down a 50k street a r33 gts25t with a few mods(3" bore, big cooler,) pulls up next to me drops it down to 2nd (i guess) and hits boost and launches off, im thinkin who the f**ks this c**t? get to the lights next to him and realise that state highway one is open right infront of us which means 200+k lets go riceboy, im sitting there brap bap bapbap give it a few quick stabs to about 8 or 9k to let him know im keen he responds with a few revs but its barely audible as my car idles at about 100dbs, lights go green and were both off due to traction difficulties i launch in 2nd and am still fishtailin everywhere! i can here him whhoooa pisshhhing through his gears but im still right next to him, finally in third gear at about 80k my car starts to hook up and i feel the revs start to drop and that sink in the seat feelin as i launch about half a length in front, getting to about 7500 in third im thinking **** i've only got one gear left (only a 4spd box at the time) so i rev it out just over 10k and slam into 4th at about 150k and omigod the powerband was perfect it just keep revving and i was gone backed off at about 200 and a huge off throttle flame ball cannoned out the exhaust to signal a perfect victory!!! i was buzzen for hours after that one, pure NA power!!!

I think I might give my left nut for an engine like that.

Thats what i love about australia and new zealand. You can drop any import 13B NA or turbo into your oldschool mazda no worries. In Perth i know of street registered rx3's and 4s making 600hp and i know new zealand is just as rotor mad....gotta love those 1970's diskbrake's with the drums up back...if anything goes wrong you'd be better off bailing out!

I can still remember my 13B PPort and that thing loved to rev high. And the best thing I like about Australia is you can get any car here put a rota in it and it's street legal. My Rx7 FB doesn't have rego because I don't want to cause how in hell do you drive a low nine second car on the streets, try driving 50mph in a drag racing Rx7
