lol
Same here but that is a general figure.... it varies on drivers...
I will run with a stock 99-01 Gt 5 spd coupe
But if its got an exhaust and a cold air intake they seem to be able to rape me with just those 2 mods... interesting.....

i've raced a stang before, and it's the only car that has been able to hang with me so far. it's one of those newer ones, but this thing had this mean *** racing hood and kit. it was on my ***, i couldn't shake him, he couldn't pass me. finally at 130mph traffic was starting to build on the freeway so i slow down. he didn't and almost smacked into two cars. he was fast though.

I have been kind of curious about those 99-03 GT's.....
Seen some people turning 13.6's with them... I know ford didnt under rate this motor.... most of them are turning about 220 or so at the rear wheels... and the cobra about 278 or so at the wheels... but the cobra runs 13.2's on stock tires 13.0 flat on slicks.... but it is a bit torqueless off the line....
Though as this point I would take an RX7 over a 99-02 GT Mustang..... But I would not take one over an 03 Cobra.... Sorry had to deny a car that will turn 12.4's in stock trim with the tires it came with off the showroom floor.
But I still want my FD!!!
Though that Pewter 02 GT busted by ***** pretty bad the other day. I am defintely a low 14 second car though. Not bad for a pretty much stock mustang GT convertible 5.0 fully loaded.
But anyway good kill!!

well i must say the new stangs are pretty fast but i would never own one. my first gen would give the newer GT's a run for their money and the older ones stock had no chance but when they are moded they are fast. either way my 1st gen is going to be a mustang killer when its done but till then props to the mustanks the pony's who go moo

13b isnt yours a 14.3 car???
If so I am right there with ya!
In a more or less stock 89 Gt Convertible 5 spd.
lol
Though I cant catch ya in a corner! i will admit to that.. Though my 2.3 would catch you in a corner you would blow it away as soon as you exited the turn... lol 2.3 coupe runs 18.2
The worst mustang produced in the 90's that wasa V8 was the 96 auto Gt convertible car. It is basically in the 15.5 15.7 territory... no wonder so many people think mustangs are slow! They didnt improve much till 99... I think they got a 15hp jump in 98... But you would need to worry more about an older 5.0 than you need to worry about a 94-98 GT....

Basically all they did with those mods was just keep it a little cooler and have better flow so it runs better.

Well the 99 ups pick up some nice #'s from CAI and full exhaust.
They tested the FRP FR500 dual mode exhaust on a 99 Cobra
results. Just with that no headers or anything else hp at the wheels was increased by 16hp! Damn
Well I am sure if I had an exhuast on mine I would run with them better. But my car is a pretty heavy one.
Also in 99 they changed to non return fuel systems changed the upper intake some and for the auto a better shift program that is much better. Not so much a slushbox anymore!
Matter of fact the 4.6's from 98 up have no real problem with intake flow. They are just a bit limp wristed in the exhaust and computer area. Otherwise good motors with a lot of potential. Crap I am a pushrod guy saying go modular... oh well... How bout a pushrod guy saying go 7's!!!!
Side note....
99ups usually turn between 210-230hp at the wheels while the older 5.0's like me turn 190hp at the wheels but the same amount of torque and a broader torque curve which is what usually helps us keep up!
