this past saturday i had to go to va. to deliver/sell a car with my cousin. i was in my fd and he was cruisin a 1.8 integra / civic vx... (light as a **** @ 2000lbs)

anyway, these were some of the challengers i bumped heads with: (i say challengers like i'm the champ or somthing )

first we were cruisin at like 80, 90... and two mercury cougars came up from behind us. one was a silver cougar with some cool looking ricey stuff (taillight 'conversions', aftermarket exhaust, bbq-hot wing... u know) well this dude was appreciative of a nice saturday morning drive, but his friend on the other hand... a red cougar... seemed a little more amped to race. it was a 3 lane highway. cougar on the left, me in the middle, blue civi on the right. (rev, revvvvv.. ) so said the cougar. not trying to be an arrogant dick or nothing; i decided to practice my on the roll launches... as i turned to tell cuzo to wait for a 3 beep i see the cougar out my peripheal taking a quarter panel lead. a prepared mind had me already in 3rd gear (my cousin as well) and we metaled the pedal. needless to say 'bye bye cougar' but cuzo's civi pushed me on 3rd up till about 6000 rpm's... then he had to shift. alright i know it's no fun picking on cougars, but this was the first time i got to race my cousin on the highway too. that little FF pulls. anyway... bye mercury; next up: mustangs.

after a little laidback driving a silver mustang (looked like 00 models or better) and a black GT model pulled up. the silver one didn't want it (no badges, i'm assuming it was v6) but the black GT did a sneak attack fly by on the right lane. ok guy... driving with left hand at 10 o clock and right hand at 3 o clock getting into 'the zone' (automatic maybe? ). so zoom he goes. downshifted to 4th (should've 3rd) and proceeded to catch up with rusty musty. we hit a little traffic so i was trying to line up next to him, i slowed down a little so we could get some clearance but the ****** pulled off again. this time being the great v8 driver that he is decided to go on the right shoulder to pass a friggin truck. ok. usually on highways we have 'civilized' racing, but i see this is not the case with mr. ford. so i switched to Muhammed Ali mode (bobbing and weaving). after a few cuts here and there we got back to traffic. i was on the left, musty was on the right and innocent bystander was in the middle. 3rd gear... 5500 rpms or so. the cars in front of me and musty opened up for a possible cut in front of the guy in the middle. WHOOOSHHH ... aaaahhhhh i love boost... so now he's tailing me, after a few cat and mouse runs we came to a wide section (4 or 5) lanes. we sorta lined up.. this guy kept trying to take me on the fly. i decided to put the .98 g skidpad claim to a test... after a i hit a few apexes on some wide turns, the mustang was like 8-10 cars back. mmm... horseys taste delicious said the FD. NEXT... FairLady Z

a very nice one at that... i saw him zooming up in my rear-view. all white. some stickers on the side. mostly suspension mods stickers and bolt on air stuff. this one was cool. a lot of open road in front of us. i was in 5th up to about 5500 rpms; we were flying. i'm not sure if the Z didn't want to push too hard but he slowed down. good thing too. i saw my latchless hood rattling at the hinges!! well thumbs up to this dude. later on my cousin told me we were at least in the 130's... (my speedo's broken)... things winded down a bit until the drive back from va.

sold cuzo's car. passed the keys to him to drive back to ny. (my right hamstring was getting tight). so we're cruisin. started to approach a vette, but cuz was reluctant (don't really blame him, first time driving my car) and then an M5 zipped by. both these guys came at traffic so there wasn't anything going on. i would've like to have avenge a loss i took from a vette a few weeks ago but o well... pulled over to bust a pipe. got back in the cockpit... and right away... 4WD boost on my left...

WRX... shaved off moldings, door handles, no badges, exhaust. WRX was funny. kept giving me room to go in front of him. i guess he figured my red FD will get a ticket before he would. so we're cruising. got to an open stretch, and whoosh WRX is off. he knew that i knew that he knew i was gonna get him. i think he just wanted to see my top end. well, i didn't disappoint... sorry (WRX owners) but FD owned him at 4th and 5th gear. (side note: nice HID's WRX) he caught bak up, gave a big thumbs up and his girlfriend was clapping. pretty funny. the rest of the ride was blahzay. till next weekend when i go to ga to pick up a TII!!!!!!

thanks for reading all.

my setup is nothing really out of the ordinary:

streetport, non-seq, 3 " through, with a Wolf 3D EMS.

question Turbo II:

what would be THE first step you'd take in upgrading for more power for an FC? an RB exhaust setup i'm thinking?

Sweet Kills, Yea first step exhaust on an FC, Rb is perfect. If its a T2 make sure you get atleast a fuel pump and fcd, porting the wg would be good too.
