i dont have a clue how much over stock i am making in my 87 gxl. it feels a bit sluggish right now but that is probably from the exhaust. i have been to the strip twice, but as i am a mountain boy, i am good at twisties and not so much launching from a stop. first time i went with crappy tires i ran 10.5 consistently. that was stock with no cats.



i took it back after removed emissions, S5 intake manifold, perma-cool e-fan, open headers, S5 TII wheels with 245 yoko ES-100 rubber in the back plus 4.3 GTUs diff. i couldnt launch it worth a **** (bogging at 5k clutch drop) and i ran 10.3s, missing 3rd gear all 3 times. my rt's were all .5-.6 and my 60ft were 2.5-2.7 trap speed 67-69mph



so here i am driving down the street and i pull up next to a hoda cord v6 and i predicted this guy wanted to race, while i just wanted to pass him and get in his lane. so i launch real easy and then nail it, he jumps 1/2 car at the start and then i just pull past him easily and switch lanes in front of him.



with the grand prix gt (v6 i assume) i pull off of a light and i am shifting gears at like 3500, by the time i get in to 3rd gear I hear the giant wing sporting pontiac go full throttle. by this time i am in 3rd at 3000 and he is nose to my tail. so i dont shift gears, rather i just floor it, he pulls on me and gets 1/2 a car, then i hit my powerband and pull 1 car on him by 6500 in 3rd.



not really impressive kills, but since my "Butt-dyno" is malfunctioning, i was hoping to get some comparison for how fast my car "could" be if i could launch it correctly.
